Sculptra

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an FDA approved dermal injection that gradually
replaces lost collagen. Sculptra works by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. Collagen is a fibrous protein that gives support to the structure of the skin. Collagen also supports hyaluronic acid, which helps the skin to retain moisture and elastin, which helps to maintain firm, tight skin. Collagen is lost during the aging process. Replacing lost collagen helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hollow areas, and bony areas on the face.

What to expect Post Treatment?

Bruising and swelling may occur post injection.
You may also experience redness and tenderness in the treated areas - swelling and bruising can give the appearance of unevenness' in the area treated. This should settle once the swelling and bruising has resolved 24 hours after treatment.

At-Home After care

Massage treated areas 5 times a day for 5 minutes for 5 days to distribute solution and help prevent nodule formation. This may be uncomfortable for the first couple of days, but is still necessary. Example: Pinching and turning the treated area. The easiest time to massage is when the treated area is moistened with cleanser or moisturizer.
